Life After Quarantine

Updated: Jun 11, 2020

I think we are all at the stage where we want to know what's next! How will life be when we come out the other side? The truth is, nobody knows. So In this mini series I will be writing to you guys about how my back to school experience has been.

As I'm a year 12 student in the UK the government have announced that we will get some face to face time with our subject teachers, how this will work I'm really not sure! From what I understand we will be getting some timetabled time at school whilst doing online school on the days we aren't timetabled to come in.

The government has indicated that only 25% of students (in year 10 and 12) will be allowed on site at one time, this to me suggests we will be having very limited time at school on a reduced timetable and the whole experience is going to be very different to what we are used to.

My school have decided that it's not a good idea to sit any internal exams this school year but they will still be giving us predicted grades and more information will come. There has been many petitions and speculation going around on how the government will be able to provide support to those sitting exams next year, some of these being cutting down on content in the exams or introducing coursework. None of these have been confirmed by the government or DfE but I'm sure they have plans that haven't yet been announced.

This week commencing the 8th of June we will be receiving more information on what school will look like, as from the 15th of June we will be able to come into school for some face to face time with our teachers! I'll be writing my next blog post after we receive more information.

In the meantime, stay safe and happy!

Amy
